Chennai based Madras Fertilisers Limited is a Public Sector (PSU) fertiliser company under the administrative control of department of Fertilisers (DOF), Govt of India, engaged in manufacture of urea. This company was incorporated in 1966 and situated at Manali, District Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Manali is located at about 20 km north of Chennai city. The company sterted itsef as a joint venture between Government of India (GOI) and AMOCO U.S.A with equity contributions of 51% and 49% respectively.  Madras Fertilisers Limited has  been serving the Nation for the past 40 years since plant commissioning in 1971 and is proud to be part of Green Revolution.

Madras Fertilisers Limited (MFL) had offloaded its holding to the public via an Initial Public Offer (IPO) in 1997.
