MMTC has floated tender for import of unspecified quantity of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP)


State owned trading firm MMTC Limited has invited tenders for the import of an unspecified volume of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) to use it in coming kharif season starting in June.

The last date for this tender is 30th May 2011.

The company has asked bidders to quote the quantity of DAP they intend to supply. It has asked for supply of two grades of di-ammonium phosphate (DAP), DAP: 18-46 and DAP:16-44. The shipment period mentioned in the bid for consignment delivery is May-September, 2011, and the contracted supplies would have to delivered at the Kandla, Rozy, Kakinada, Vizag, Tuticorin, New Mangalore and Krishnapatnam ports.

The Agriculture Ministry has estimated India's fertiliser demand to be 4% higher for forthcoming Kharif/summer crop season of 2011( starting June) at 28.8 million tonnes, as compared to 27.7 million tonnes in the corresponding season of 2010.

Major Kharif crops growing with the beginning of the south-west monsoon in June are paddy, bajra, jowar, maize, moong, groundnut, red chillies, turmeric, cotton, soyabean and sugarcane.
