In near future, fertilizer subsidy will be directly credited into the farmers banks account. The Department of Fertilizes (DOF) is preparing a detailed project report (DPR) on Phase III fertilizer subsidy scheme and set a target date to complete it as March 2013.
This Phase III fertilizer subsidy Scheme would be sub-divided into three stages :-
1. Stage A - Information availability on sale of fertilizer to individual farmers and subsequent release of subsidy to manufacturer.
2. Stage B - Direct Transfer of Subsidy to all farmers/beneficiaries.
3. Stage C - Targeted subsidy transfer to eligible farmers on the basis of land holding and other entitlement criteria.
