RCF gets clearance from PIB for its new expansion project

Public sector urea producer Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF) has received the clearance from Project Investment Board (PIB) for its Thal Project.

Present capacity of RCF Thal is 1300 mtpd of Ammonia and 2210 of Urea. Now the company is going to expand its capacity. It will set up a 2200 mtpd of Ammonia plant and 3850 mtpd of Urea plant. A gas based captive power plant (CPP) of 30 MW is also coming up along with 2×1000 kva diesel generator.

RCF is going to invest Rs 5500 crore in this project. Environment clearance has already been issued by the Ministry of Environment earlier. Now company is waiting for the approval from Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).
